Cutting may be my very first love (just don’t tell my high school boyfriend.) I live for creating shapes that play up your features with the benefit of easy styling. From shags, pixies, model cuts, and everything in between. My Designer Cuts keep you looking current and feeling your best!
Babylights $220+
Remember when you were a kid and at the end of the summer you had all those different variations of tones in your hair? That’s what babylights will give you. Warning: you may start to pick up some radio signals from all the tiny foil I’ll use, but trust me, it’s totally worth it! While the results give a high impact natural looking finish, this is a very high maintenance effect. With only a 8-9 week gap between services.

Calling all my low-maintenance fashion babes! This is a free hand listening technique that I place just off the scalp to give you up to four months of beautiful maintanence free color! Usually done once or twice a year with a toner or facial framing appointment in between. Book today and let me come up with a personalized plan for you!

I was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. While most hairstylists will tell you that they took cosmetology classes in high school and got hooked on hairstyling, my story is a little different.
When I was growing up, my mom worked as an assistant at a hair salon, so I spent a lot of time in the shop, surrounded by cutting shears and color swatches. When having my hair styled, I always had an opinion about what I wanted and how it should look. “I want this piece to be blonde.” “I think my bangs should be shorter.” “No, no, I want that piece to be darker blonde.” I’m sure my stylist wanted to kick me out of the chair, but hey, I knew what I liked. Here I was, critiquing my color and perfecting my hair cut and all along, my mom knew I was destined to be a hairstylist.
After attending community college, going to makeup school, and working for major cosmetic companies, I realized my mom was right, hairstyling was my passion.
In 2005, I got my hairstyling career rolling by accepting an apprenticeship and my first salon job in Oakton, Virginia. I called that salon home for almost 13 years, perfecting my craft and, taking as many classes as I could. A few of my favorites were from Tigi, Wella, Bumble and Bumble, Oscar Bond, Brianna Cisneros, Ren Shaw, Sonya Dove, Tara McAdams,and Shannon Rha. Then in 2017, I relocated to an Old Town, Alexandria salon within the same company. I spent 3 years learning, growing, and enjoying my environment and amazing coworkers.
BUT! In July of 2020 I have became my own Boss! Opening my very own studio in Alexandria, Virginia. Where I’ve become a Blonding and Balayage Specialist, and self-proclaimed Queen of Fringe. Every day I continue to push myself to dream up fresh ideas and experimenting with the latest trends.
Out-side of the salon, I love estate sale shopping, hunting through thrift stores, checking out local breweries, and hiking all the beautiful trails Virginia has to offer.

Cancelations
If you need to cancel or reschedule 48 - 24 hours before your appointment you will be charged 50% of your original service total.
If you need to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment you will be charged 100% of your original service total.
Running late?
I have a grace period of 15 minutes for clients that show up late.
Please call or text if you know you are running late.
After 15 minutes, your appointment is subject to be reschduled and charged the same day canceation fee.
Please no Guests
Marigold and Opal is a small space salon and unfortunately cannot accommodate kids or plus ones that do not have appointments at this time.
While masks are not required they are appreciated.
